Pedota Alessandra was born in Cremona in 1963, her mother being a teacher and father being an artist, painter and poet. Already as a child she demonstrates talents in manual crafts, drawing and modelling. At the age of 21 she first approaches violinmaking and there in discovers her passion.
One year later she commences studies with Maestro Francesco Bissolotti in his workshop for four years.
Under the guidance of Maestro Bissolotti she learns to use the traditional construction techniques of the famous Cremonese violinmakers of the past. This technique gives each instrument characteristics which make it unique. Her meeting with Bernard Neumann violinmaker and restorer, her future husband, contributed considerably to her professional growth.
Since then she has developed a personal stylistic path in the construction of instruments and in acoustic research. She works predominantly with musicians.
