It is necessary to go back to the adolescence of Christian Urbita to understand well how its vocation could impose itself to him with such intensity and a certainty never denied.

While preparing a baccalaureate of technician, he is an excellent draftsman, devotes his free time to music (he studies the classical guitar), drawing, painting and wood carving. After his baccalaureate, he enrolled at the Paul Sabatier University of Sciences, in the Physics / Chemistry / Technology section with the project of becoming an engineer. He did not, however, completely resign himself to the idea of having a craft in which his three passions: music, drawing, sculpture would find their place.

In October 1972, during a television program, he discovered the violin maker presented by Mr. Etienne Vatelot. It is a real revelation! At last, this profession was called by his vows, and he was to offer him the rare happiness of realizing the synthesis of his three passions. The next day he inquired about the training to be accomplished. And there, the first problems appear: his age, 20 years, forbids him to claim a training in a French school. He turns to the stranger; After several steps, he knows by the end of November that only the school in Mittenwald in Bavaria is likely to welcome him. To enter the entrance competition in March-April, he must speak fluent German and play the violin properly!
