Eyal Hofmekler was born in Tel Aviv in 1957 to a family of musicians – both his parents were cellists.
Eyal studied with maestro Renato Scrollavezza in the Conserv atorio Di Musica Arrigo Boito in Parma from 1981 until 1986, when he got his diploma. He stayed in Parma until 1987 practicing bows restoration and making guitars.
Eyal lives and works in Jerusalem.
In the studio the musician can find a large variety of instruments: Violins, violas, celli and double basses, both modern and old in all sizes, as well as acessories from the leading firms. The studio offers services such as: Restoration and repair of both bows and bowed instruments, bow rehairing, sound set-up, appraisal for insurance, information regarding the state of preservation (before selling or buying an instrument) and possible trade in when buying an instrument. The studio also offers a variety of instruments for rent.
