HARALD LORENZ

Our company was established more than 120 years ago and our fourth generation is currently turning pegs. In 1884 our founder, Franz Lorenz (1859-1944), started turning pegs with very simple tools in Ursprung, Czechoslovakia. His son, Josef Lorenz (1885-1975), later took over the workshop and continued quite successfully until the expulsion of his family from what was then referred to as the Sudetenland at the end of World War II. Josef Lorenz’s family, including his two sons, Emil and Alfred found their way to Bubenreuth in southern Germany as did many others that had been forced from their homes. Here they continued turning pegs in small workshops.
