JORG ANDREAS FRANKE/GEIGENBAU – ATELIER

Jörg Andreas Franke began his training in the father’s workshop in 1979 and attended the violin school in Mittenwald. After his master’s examination in 1987, his traveling years led him to Paris. At Le Canu-Millant he was able to benefit from the collaboration with Loïc and Verena Le Canu as well as the expert Bernard Millant. Further stations were Krahmer-Pöllmann in Neumarkt St. Veit, the bow makers Kurt Gerhard and Roland Penzel in Ostrach, Otmar Lang – violin maker of the Vienna Philharmonic and the Staatsoper – in Vienna and Hermann G. Wörz in Munich. Since 1995 he has been running the Geigenbau-Atelier in Darmstadt.
