Brice Dupin de Saint Cyr is a world recognized dealer and restorer in fine stringed instruments.
After graduating from a Parisian business school he began to work in 1973 as an Antique dealer in Paris. From 1974 to 1984 he settled an Antique shop in Bergerac South West of France specialized in rare musical instruments. He became a member of the CNES ” Chambre Nationale des experts specialises” where he developed his expert eye and the in-depth knowledge of musical instruments recognition.
He had the opportunity given by Paul Shuback to make instruments in Portland Oregon from 1984 to 1987.
From that experience Brice won seven first prices for the construction and the sound of violin and viola at the Vancouver International Exhibition of BC Canada 1987.
The firm of Jacques Francais Rare Violins in New York offers him a place when Brice was ready to go back in France with his family. In Jacques great atelier Brice worked and study with the most knowledgeable restorer on the world rarest instruments.
In 1991 Brice opened his shop in Carnegie Hall studio 915 where he worked until 2007. Now he moved his shop to New Rochelle 30 minutes from Grand Central.
His shop offers services including repairs and restoration of fine stringed instruments and bows, valuations and certifications.
