SIELAM MUSIC

SieLam was founded in 1998 by Niny Lam, a violinist graduate of the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna. In the early 1990s, while she was doing her master’s degree research paper on the subject “The History of Violin Making and Manufacturing in China”, Niny travelled around China and interviewed many of the well-known makers and manufacturers. She gained a wealth of knowledge from this experience. Her research articles were subsequently published in the Strad Magazine in 1995 and 1999.

Being a violinist and a violin teacher in her early career, Niny understood the needs of students and professional players but was initially frustrated by the vast amount of poor quality instruments on the market. This experience inspired her to bring well-crafted and good quality instruments from China to Spain.
