CATHERINE JANSSENS GRADUATED AT THE NEWARK SCHOOL OF VIOLIN MAKING IN 2004. SHE OPENED HER WORKSHOP IN 2005 IN BRUSSELS WHILE CONTINUING HER TRAINING DURING INTERNSHIPS AND SEMINARS.
IN 2009, SHE PARTICIPATED IN THE CREATION OF THE ATELIER FLAGEY, A COMMON AREA OF WORK AND EXCHANGE BETWEEN LUTHIERS AND BOWMEN.
SHE IS A FOUNDING MEMBER AND PRESIDENT OF THE ASSOCIATION EKHO, DEDICATED TO THE PROMOTION OF CONTEMPORARY VIOLIN MAKING, CREATED IN 2014.
WITH HER TRAINING AS A VIOLINIST, CATHERINE JANSSENS IS PARTICULARLY INTERESTED IN THE SOUND PRODUCTION OF BOTH BAROQUE AND MODERN INSTRUMENTS AND DEVOTES A PART OF HER STUDY TO THE DISCOVERY OF THE ACOUSTIC PRINCIPLES AT THE BASE OF THE INSTRUMENTS OF THE QUARTET.
THE “PLATFORM FOR EDUCATION AND TALENT” (KING BAUDOUIN FOUNDATION) GRANTS HER A GRANT IN 2015. MEMBER OF THE ALADFI (FRENCH ASSOCIATION OF LUTHIERS AND BOWMEN), SHE IS ALSO WORKING TO ENCOURAGE AN INCREASED COLLABORATION BETWEEN LUTHIERS AS WELL AS TO ENHANCE THE RELATIONS BETWEEN LUTHIERS AND MUSICIANS.
