ROLV AUKRUST FIOLINMAKER BUEMAKER AS

Rolv Aukrust went on Scandinavian violin maker school in Sweden from 1986 to 1990. At school there were several talented guest teachers, who buemakeren Hans Karl Schmidt from Dresden and violin maker Samuel Zygmuntowitcz from New York. In autumn 1990 he traveled to Hans Karl Schmidt to go in buemakerlære. In 1991 he worked at N.Nilsson Fiolbyggare in Malmo. Through 1992, he studied under Samuel Zygmuntowitcz in New York.
Based on the knowledge and experience of apprenticeship with Samuel Zygmuntowitcz, he received the silver medal in the international violin maker competition Triennale in Cremona in 1997.
In autumn 1993 he started working with repair of stringed instruments on Hornaas Music with Sevald Bismo. From spring 2008, Rolv Aukrust running his own workshop in Oslo, Torggata 34.
