I was born in Erlangen in 1973 and grew up in Bubenreuth. In 1992 I began my apprenticeship to become a professional violin maker at Karl Höfner’s workshop in Bubenreuth under supervision of Alfred Zecho, a master violin maker. I broadened my skills in the state school for violin making in Mittenwald and in other workshops, in which I also built historical wind instruments and different historical stringed instruments.
In 1995 I succesfully completed my apprenticeship and since then I have worked at Karl Höfner’s and Roderich Paesold’s workshop.
