Gisela Bastidas Pavlovitz began her professional life as a luthier in the Simon Bolivar Music Conservatory luthier workshops with the professors Matías Herrera and Lucía Valli.
She continues her studies in the luthier workshops of the National Youth Orchestra in San Agustin del Sur, Caracas-Venezuela, where she finished 2 violas and the first cello made entirely with Venezuelan woods.
In 1995 you decide to perfect her technique and part to Cremona-Italy to receive summer lessons with the Maestro Claudio Ameguetti.
In 1996 he studied the construction of stringed instruments with the Maestro Ricardo Bergonzi.
She received advice with the baroque bows making technique in the Henzo Trematerra atelier in Cremona-Italy.
She graduated from the Centro de Formazione Professionale di Cremona in 1997 as a bow maker.
In the same year and for two more, she continues her studies in the atelier of the Maestro Michael Schimpf in Cremona-Italy.
In the year 2000 she takes lessons Maestro Pier Angelo Balsarini with whom she made 2 violas.
Since 2007 she is the official luthier of the International Seminar of Portuguesa which is under the direction of the Maestro Roberto Zambrano.
In 2010 she returns to Cremona-Italy and attends the Maintenance and Care of the Instrument classes, for a summer week. Also, she participates in the workshop of perfecting techniques of bows restoration with the Prof. Daniel Navea. She also takes individual lessons on bows restoration at the Violin Gugh Luzern (Switzerland) restoration and bow making atelier.
Since 15 years ago she works with the National Network of Youth and Children Orchestras of Venezuela, also known as El Sistema, in the restoration and maintenance of the Double Basses of the principal Symphonic Orchestras of the Country.
