The League of American Orchestras stated their opposition against President Donald Trump’s travel ban. President Trump issued an executive order to ban seven countries such as Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen, Iraq, and Syria. These are Muslim countries that are involved in terrorist-related incidents.

The organization wanted to stop the ban because of musicians from these countries who wish to share their music with the entire world. Music should serve the global community, and that music should act as a bridge to different cultures and traditions around the world according to the League of Orchestras. The organization firmly believed that music has the power go beyond differences and can break the barriers of diplomacy and democracy. They concluded that the issues regarding national security can be addressed adequately in many different and yet effective ways without putting restrictions on the borders of United States.
