” Atelje Batalović” is a family workshop founded by Boris Batalović, a violinist from Kragujevac. Together with his wife Milena, a biologist, he is engaged in the construction of violins, violas and cellos, as well as restoration and maintenance.
Boris Batalović began his education as a violinist in Kragujevac and graduated from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad. 2007 he goes to Cremona in Italy where he enrolls in the most prestigious violin making school “Antonio Stradivari”. Already at the beginning, Boris was recognized as a great talent and future master. The creation of the first instruments was accompanied by excellent reviews by Cremonese craftsmen. He worked with famous masters in Cremona as an assistant but also as a violinist, which led to a special experience in the field of sound research. Some of the famous names from the world of violinists with whom Boris Batalović collaborated are: Daniele Scolari, Alessandro Voltini, Claudio Amighetti, Luca Maria Gallo, Rusi Slavov, Filip Davenu, Luiza Vanja Campagnolo, Marc De Sterke, Bernabeu Bor hand, Michele Dobner, Marco Maria Gastaldi, Massimo Negroni, Andrea Bocini. 2012 _ opens a studio in Kragujevac where he still works with his wife Milena as an assistant. Boris Batalović uses classical models when making violins, violas and cellos, as well as models of his own construction. When choosing materials, he is exclusive and uses a centuries-old combination of the Cremonese school : Alpine spruce and Bosnian maple. His work is in constant artistic growth, concentrated on the development of personal aesthetic and acoustic style.
