I was born in 1957 in Hagenau. As the son of an instrument maker, I discovered early on my love for this profession. Already at the age of 12, I carved my first violin flaps under the guidance of my father. At the age of 12, I began my training with violinmaker Ernst-Heinrich Roth in Bubenreuth and at the violin school in Mittenwald. After completing my apprenticeship in 1976 and working in my father’s workshop for several years, I passed my master’s examination in Nuremberg in 1987. Since then, I am self-employed and run a workshop in Poxdorf (near Forchheim). I am a member of the Streich- und Zupfinstrumentenmacher-Guild Erlangen and the Association of German Geigenbauers.
