My name is Anna Ueberschaer, master violin maker in Düsseldorf.
Welcome to my homepage and my violin making studio.
In my workshop in the heart of Düsseldorf, in Oberbilk (near the main train station), I repair and restore stringed instruments of all kinds, whether old master instruments or student instruments. I also always have a large selection of violins, violas and cellos for sale.
I received my master’s degree in violin making in 2006 and have been working as a freelance master violin maker in Düsseldorf ever since. I completed my training at the renowned Newark School of Violinmaking in England. During my apprenticeship, I specialized in workshops in Berlin, Bremen and Düsseldorf in the restoration and repair of old master instruments as well as in bow procurement, which are still the main focus of my work today.
I have been a member of the Association of German Master Violin Makers (VDG) since 2009.
I have lived and loved my job for more than twenty years. Turning a piece of wood into an instrument, restoring the sound of an old, damaged instrument, requires dedication, patience and perseverance. Every move is precision work with a file and sure instinct. And listening is also an important part of my job.
No instrument is like the other, and every bow is unique. Whether it’s a sound adjustment or replacing the bow cover – every instrument is unique, just like the wishes of my customers. Bringing both together, the customer and his instrument, that’s my job, which gives me a lot of joy every time. In my workshop every customer should get the instrument he was looking for. Or maybe even discover something completely different for yourself? I am looking forward to your visit.
