I was born in Milan in 1967.
From 1984 to 1990 I attended the Violin Making School of Cremona under the guidance of Masters Massimo Negroni, Ernesto Vaia and Vincenzo Bissolotti.
During the same period I graduated from the Guitar Building Course held by Maestro Carlo Raspagni in Vignate (MI).
I then moved to Paris for three years to learn the restoration and set up techniques.
There I worked for the famous shop Vassiliev, run by Bernard and Pierre Sabatier Barthel, and Latin Liutherie, managed by luthier Gilles Chancereul, becoming familiar with the French style of violin making.
I then move to the US where job Hillmusic Shop (North Carolina) with R. Nowell and Jennifer Creadick.
Jobs then in San Francisco in Frank’s lab Switch (friend and pupil of Ferdinando Sacconi) where I have a chance to see and fix major Italian instruments (Gragnani, Sturgeons, Sannino, Postiglione, JB Ceruti, Scarampella, etc …).
I’ll be back in Cremona in 1997 and devote myself exclusively to the construction of new instruments and copies based on the models of the Italian masters.
