In 1977 he started as an apprentice luthier in the Monzino firm where the Antoniazzi brothers, Erminio Farina, Gennaro Marino, Severino Riva, Ambrogio Sironi, Piero Parravicini and Luigi Galimberti worked among others. I met the old guard of Milan’s violin making: from Gianotti to Malagutti from Farotto to Garimberti and I collaborated with them.
After a few years I enrolled in Cremona and graduated in 1984 with the Masters Zambelli, Cogna and Bissolotti.
In 1985 I started the activity and I have as first clients the Conservatory of Turin, the Teatro alla Scala, the Music School of Milan. In 1987 I was entrusted with the restoration of some ancient instruments from the Museum of Musical Instruments at the Castello Sforzesco, and again in this year, I was commissioned to maintain the instruments of the “Villa Simonetta” Civic School of Milan.
In 1988 the Teatro alla Scala requested my intervention for the restoration of some double basses owned by it.
Between 1988 and 1990 I was assigned the maintenance of the instruments used by the Milan Conservatory and the repair of the historical double basses owned by the Institute.
In 2007 I began the restoration of period instruments owned by the Milan Conservatory.
In May 2007 I attended a refresher course held by M ° G. Hettingher of Los Angeles to inform me about the new restoration techniques.
My restoration activity has always been accompanied by the construction of instruments: in 1992 I started an export initiative with South Korea and later with the United States.
Since 2004 I have been receiving orders for the construction of cellos from Ireland, Germany, England, as well as continuing an intense relationship with students and Masters in Italy for the construction of their instruments.
The professionalism acquired in the restoration and construction allows me to fine-tune the instruments. Since 2011 I have held seminars on lutherie at the Conservatories.
For about fifteen years, in my workshop, I have been teaching traditional Italian construction and restoration techniques. In 2016 I published the violin making manual at the publisher Volontè & co: “the iron and the soul THE BOW INSTRUMENT construction, operation and maintenance” intended for violin, viola, cello and double bass instrumentalists, students and professionals, but also organologists and all fans of the string instrument.

Since 2018 I have been teaching string instrument technology at the “Nicolini” Conservatory of Music in Piacenza
