FIOLINMAKER MAGNUS NEDREGARD
Magnus Nedregård was born in Ålesund in 1976, where his father was a music teacher. He was trained as a violin maker at IPIALL in Cremona, Italy. Nedregård graduated from the school as the best student in his class in 2002 and received Ferraroni scholarship. He then worked for some time for the award-winning violinmaker Alessandro Voltini in Cremona, before he started his own workshop in Bergen (with a grant from Innovation Norway), only to move to Oslo in 2007.
He has in recent years worked mostly in restoration, an interest he has deepened among other things BVMA their courses at West Dean College, which put him in touch with the best research groups in this business. He is for maintenance responsible for the collection of Dextra Muisca, but also works with many other unique instruments.
