FRANCINE HUMBERT-DROZ
Francine Humbert-Droz was born in La-Chaux-de-Fonds in a family of watchmakers and music lovers. Very early in classical music, she studied violin at the Conservatoire of her city and then at the Institute of Ribaupierre in Lausanne, in the class of Professor Jiri Trnka. At the same time, she trained as a music education teacher in Willems and graduated in 1996.
It was in Philippe Girardin’s atelier in Neuchâtel, where his brother Jean-Maurice accomplished his apprenticeship as a luthier, that he met Jacques Poullot, a renowned French archetier. The latter offers him a stage of archery in his studio in Dijon. She discovered with interest this magnificent trade that combines precision work and music. She will complete her training as an archetier with Luc Breton who will direct her towards the baroque and classical archery.
