Born in 1966 in Germany, Friedrich Alber became passionate about music and began playing violin at the age of nine. Later, he discovers the viola he still plays today, preferably in chamber music.
At sixteen he discovered violin making and after graduating with distinction at the school of Newark (England) he arrived in France and worked four years with Frédéric Chaudière.
Installed in Montpellier since 1990 he devotes himself mainly to the manufacture of instruments of the quartet. His production, which is rich in 150 violins, violas and cellos, is inspired by prestigious Italian models: Stradivari and Guarneri del Gesu and Rogeri for violins, Amati for violas and Gofriller, Grancino and Montagnana for cellos.
