Using original machine tools designed by David Rodgers, Gerald makes high quality fittings for the violin, viola and cello family, as well as tuning pegs for viols and lutes.

The fittings are made and finished by hand, with meticulous attention to detail and finish. The styles are all traditional, as are the materials. European boxwood is the most commonly used wood for violin fittings, often with ebony or ivory mounts (prehistoric mammoth ivory is used), and the box is stained using nitric acid and ammonia fumes. Rio rosewood, African blackwood and cocobolo are also available.

This work has been used to set up many fine instruments and the business has been established for over 25 years
