GIULIO AMATO, maker and restorer of violins, violas, and cellos.
Maestro Amato attended the Civica Scuola di Liuteria di Milano (Violin Making School of Milan) under the guidance of Maestro Lorenzo Rossi, Maestro Stefano Gibertoni, and Maestro Gabriele Negri. After graduating, he worked in the workshop of Maestro Rossi in Milan, where he specialized in making modern violins, baroque violins, and copies of ancient violins from the 1700s. In 2015, Giulio Amato opened his own workshop in the very center of Rome.
Each violin is unique, non-replicable, and personally handcrafted. Great attention is paid in every step of the making, from choosing the highest quality of wood to varnishing and setting up.
