MARCO OSIO
Marco Osio was born in Manerbio (in the Brescia province) on December 22nd. 1976.
In 1990 he began to study at the International Violinmaking school of Cremona where he graduated under the direction of master Giorgio Scolari in 1994. After completing his studies he met master Gio Batta Morassi, the main protagonist of the contemporary violin-making in Cremona, and his son Simeone, under whom he became pupil. Under their guidance he improved his technique and his stylistic approach of stringed instruments. He makes violins, violas and cellos using classical Cremonese models (Stradivari, Amati, Guarneri), as well as a 1929 Ornati model for the violin. He selects only well seasoned and premium (high) quality woods, dedicating special attention to the sound quality of his instruments. He makes use of spirit and mixed varnishes of orange-brown color with golden undertones, carefully developed through personal research.
