Matthias N. von Wallbrunn - Gei

Matthias N. von Wallbrunn is a violin maker in Berlin-Kreuzberg, who mainly builds high-quality violins, violas and cellos, but also repairs and restores them. He was born and raised in Augsburg. In 2001 he began his training as a violin maker in Milan at the Civica Scuola di Liuteria, where he spent 4 years learning how to build stringed instruments with Luca Primon. This has been the focus of his work ever since. He also lived and worked in Cremona for several years before returning to Germany and continuing to build stringed instruments in Berlin and Freiburg. He also gained experience in various workshops in several cities in Germany and England. He takes part in training courses and workshops in Europe and the USA and regularly exchanges ideas with colleagues about his work. He has been working in his studio in Berlin-Kreuzberg since 2012. His instruments are played by musicians from all over the world.
