Stringed instrument workshop of the quartet in Strasbourg.
When I started my training in 1993, making a violin was the gateway to the world of violin making. Manufacturing is the very origin of the profession of luthier.
In 2007, after 10 years spent solely in the repair and restoration of old instruments, I diversified my activity as a luthier and returned to the heart of my profession: manufacturing.
These years in the company of old instruments are very precious to me for my current achievements. Indeed these instruments (especially the Italian ones of the 17th century ) still constitute today the absolute reference as much for their models, their varnishes and their sonorities.
When I build an instrument, I repeat gestures that these luthiers performed more than 300 years ago, the manufacturing techniques having evolved very little.
