Mathias Menanteau was born in Vendée on July 29, 1977. The intense passion for music and woodworking as well as the study of the classical guitar will lead him to create his first instruments.

After obtaining the baccalaureate in literature and music, Mathias went to study at the “ Newark Violin Making School ” in England, where he learned to build and restore the instruments of the quartet. In 1999, after 3 years, he obtained the diploma issued by Charles Beare and Sir Jehudi Menuhin as well as the state diploma (city and guild certificate).

The same year he left for Berlin  to work in the “ Anton Pilàr ” studio, where he remained for 5 years and studied restoration techniques, also doing some internships in Paris and New York . In 2004, he decided to leave for Italy and naturally chose the city of  Cremona , the cradle of violin making. He works at Eric Blot , holding the position of restaurateur. He then left for Rome where he opened his workshop on February 1, 2010.Via Cimarra, near the Colosseum. This step allows him to personally manage his relationship with the musicians, dividing his activity between construction, restoration and acoustic adjustments. In 2014 he moved to Santa Maria Maggiore, between Termini station and the Coliseum.
