Tonbyggaren

Tonbyggaren Violincenter AB is a company specialized in string instruments. We address anyone interested in these noble instruments, regardless of age or level, private practitioners or institutions, musicians or builders.

The company started in Kungälv as a sole proprietorship in 1988 under the name Tonbyggaren Mats Karlsson. The focus was on building new instruments. Over time, repairs, as well as the sale of other instruments and accessories, have become a growing part of the business.

In 2001, Tonbyggaren moved to Gothenburg and Violincenter was given a place in the name. From being a home-based business, Tonbyggaren Violincenter became a real shop with an associated workshop. The business grew and in 2011 became Tonbyggaren Violincenter AB, a limited company with growth potential.
Retail trade in instruments and accessories, as well as a workshop for repairs, is now the main business.
